To locate it:
1. Open the hood.
2. Locate the underhood fuse box. It's usually a large plastic box, often black, located near the battery or firewall.
3. Consult your owner's manual or a wiring diagram. This is the crucial step. The diagram will show the fuse box layout and pinpoint the fuel pump relay.
4. Once identified, carefully remove the relay. They usually pull straight out. You might need a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry it up if it's stuck. Compare it to the diagram to be sure.
Without a diagram, visually identifying the relay for the fuel pump relay among many others in the fuse box is very difficult, if not impossible.
