A 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 with a 5.9 Cummins diesel does not have an oxygen sensor in the exhaust system. Diesel engines don't use oxygen sensors in the same way gasoline engines do. They don't have the same type of air/fuel mixture control requiring that feedback.
