Where is the number 8 cylinder on a 5.9 v8?

On a standard American V8 engine (like the 5.9L Magnum), the cylinders are numbered sequentially from the front of the engine, starting on the driver's side (left side in the US). Therefore, cylinder #8 is at the rear of the engine, on the passenger side (right side in the US).
