Where is the ignition module on a 1991 Oldsmobile regency?

The 1991 Oldsmobile Regency's ignition module isn't a separate, easily identifiable component like in some older cars. Instead, the ignition control module is integrated inside the distributor. Therefore, you won't find a separate box labeled "ignition module." The distributor itself is located on the engine; its exact position depends on the engine type (the Regency offered several V6 and V8 options). You'll generally find it on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the firewall.

To locate it, you'll need to consult a repair manual specific to your Regency's engine. The manual will have diagrams showing the distributor's location and the internal components. Trying to replace the module without a diagram is extremely difficult, as you have to remove the distributor and access the internal components. It is usually more efficient to replace the entire distributor if the module is faulty.
