1. Open the hood: Locate the hood release lever (usually inside the car near the steering wheel or under the dash).
2. Locate the air filter housing: This is a large rectangular or sometimes cylindrical box near the front of the engine. The air filter itself is inside.
3. Follow the air intake tube: The tube connects the air filter housing to the engine. The throttle body is at the other end of this tube, directly connected to the intake manifold.
You'll likely see a lot of hoses and wiring around it. The throttle body itself is usually made of metal or plastic and has a sensor on it (the throttle position sensor). Be careful not to touch any hot surfaces around the engine.
