What VIN is engine?

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) does *not* directly identify the engine. The VIN identifies the *vehicle* itself. While the VIN can be used to indirectly find information about the engine (like the engine size or type, through a vehicle history report or a dealer's database), it's not the engine's identification number. The engine itself will have its own separate identification number, often stamped on a part of the engine block.
