Where is the starter solenoid on a 2004 impala 3.4 liter engine located?

The starter solenoid on a 2004 Chevrolet Impala with a 3.4L engine is integrated into the starter motor itself. You won't find a separate solenoid like on some older vehicles. The starter is located on the passenger side (right side) of the engine block, near the bell housing (where the engine connects to the transmission). You'll have to get fairly close to the engine to see it. It's a fairly large cylindrical component with thick wires attached.
