Instructions:
1. Prepare the Jeep for Towing**:
Park your Jeep CJ5 on a level surface and turn off the engine.
Ensure the vehicle is in neutral.
Set the parking brake.
Turn off any electrical accessories.
Lock all doors and windows.
2. Secure the Tow Bar**:
Attach the tow bar to the Jeep CJ5's frame.
Ensure the tow bar is securely fastened and tight.
Note: If you are using a towing chain instead of a tow bar, skip to step 3.
3.. Connect the Safety Chain**:
Attach one end of the safety chain to the Jeep CJ5's frame and the other end to the towing vehicle's frame.
Ensure the safety chain is tight and secure.
4. Load the Jeep CJ5 onto the Car Trailer**:
If you are using a car trailer, load the Jeep CJ5 onto it using a winch or by manually pushing it up.
Secure the Jeep CJ5 in place using tie-down straps.
5. Hook up the Electrical Connection**:
Connect the Jeep CJ5's electrical plug to the towing vehicle's electrical outlet.
This will ensure the Jeep CJ5's brake lights and turn signals function while being towed.
6.. Drive the Towing Vehicle**:
Start the towing vehicle and drive slowly and cautiously.
Obey all traffic laws and signals.
7. Monitor the Jeep CJ5**:
While driving, keep an eye on the Jeep CJ5 to ensure that it is following correctly and that there are no issues.
Be aware of the increased stopping distance required while towing.
Note: If you are towing the Jeep CJ5 over a long distance, it is recommended to take frequent breaks to check on the vehicle and make any necessary adjustments. Never exceed the towing capacity of your vehicle. Always drive within the speed and weight limits for towing as advised by the manufacturer.
