How do you full field a ford tractor generator?

To fully field a Ford tractor generator, you will need to perform the following steps:

Make sure the engine is off and cool sufficiently to avoid burns from hot parts. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery to avoid any electrical shocks.

Locate the generator on the tractor. It is usually mounted on the side of the engine. Remove the protective cover.

Check the condition of the brushes and the slip rings on the generator. Replace them if they are worn out. Ensure the brushes move freely in their holders and make good contact with the slip rings.

Reconnect the negative battery cable.

Start the engine and let it run.

If there is no output voltage, adjust the field current regulator. There could be a field terminal on the generator with a small nut. Turn the nut clockwise to increase the output voltage until it is at the proper level.

Reinstall the protective cover and secure it back.
