1. Tighten the chain. A loose chain can cause the scooter to lose power and speed. Make sure the chain is tight enough so that there is only a slight amount of play when you pull on it.
2. Lubricate the bearings. Dry bearings can also cause the scooter to slow down. Apply a few drops of lubricant to the bearings every few months to keep them running smoothly.
3. Check the tire pressure. Underinflated tires can also slow down the scooter. Make sure the tires are inflated to the proper pressure, which is listed on the side of the tire.
4. Remove any unnecessary weight. The heavier the scooter, the slower it will go. If you're not carrying anything, take off the extra weight to make the scooter more aerodynamic.
5. Upgrade the motor. If you want a significant speed boost, you can upgrade the motor to a more powerful one. This is a more expensive option, but it will give you the most noticeable improvement in speed.
Please follow all safety instructions included with the scooter. Some of these modifications may void your warranty and could be dangerous.
