1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands.
3. Locate the crankshaft position sensor on the front of the engine, below the intake manifold. It is a small, cylindrical sensor with a single wire connector.
4. Disconnect the wire connector from the sensor.
5. Use a wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the sensor in place.
6. Remove the sensor from the engine.
7. Inspect the sensor for damage. If the sensor is damaged, replace it with a new one.
8. Reinstall the sensor in the reverse order of removal.
9. Tighten the bolt that holds the sensor in place.
10. Reconnect the wire connector to the sensor.
11. Lower the vehicle and reconnect the negative battery cable.
