A pair of needle nose pliers
A soldering iron
Solder
A new speedometer or speedometer cable

5. If the speedometer cable is not damaged, you will need to solder the connection between the speedometer and the cable. To do this, use a soldering iron to heat up the connection and then apply solder. Be sure to use a lead-free solder.
6. Reinstall the speedometer. Carefully insert the speedometer into the instrument cluster and secure it with the two Phillips head screws.
