Here are the steps to loosen the tensioner:
Locate the tensioner. The tensioner is located on the front of the engine, near the top. It is a black or silver-colored pulley with a spring-loaded arm.
Insert the wrench into the tensioner. There is a hole in the center of the tensioner pulley. Insert the wrench into this hole.
Turn the wrench counter clockwise. Turn the wrench counter clockwise to loosen the tensioner. This will release the tension on the belt.
Once the belt is loose, you can remove the tensioner pulley. To do this, simply pull the pulley out of the engine. Be careful not to lose the spring that is located on the inside of the pulley.
Here are some additional tips:
Make sure the engine is cool before you start working on it.
If the Serpentine belt is cracked, frayed, or damaged, it should be replaced.
If the tensioner pulley is worn or damaged, it should also be replaced.
