Where do you replace a fuel gauge in 1993 trooper?

Replacing the Fuel Gauge in a 1993 Isuzu Trooper

1. Disable the Negative Terminal

* Use a wrench to turn the negative (-) terminal of your battery counterclockwise until it’s loose.

* Remove the negative terminal and place it to the side. Make sure the terminal doesn't touch the battery during this process, or you could short circuit your battery.

2. Access the Fuel Tank

* To get to the fuel gauge on your Trooper, you’ll need to access the fuel tank.

* Locate the fuel filler door and remove it. Lift up on the inner door to release the lock and remove it.

* Open the trunk of your Trooper and remove the carpet inside of it.

* You will see an access hole in the center of the floor. Remove the access cover to expose the fuel tank and the wiring connected to it.

3. Disconnect the Fuel Gauge

* Take your multimeter and insert the red probe into the blue connector and insert the black probe into the brown connector.

* If your fuel gauge is registering empty, your fuel gauge is the culprit. Remove the screws that mount it and remove the gauge.

4. Replace the Fuel Gauge

* Install a new fuel gauge.

* Reattach the fuel tank cover and fuel door.

* Reattach the negative battery terminal.
