1. Park your car on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. If necessary, raise the front wheels off the ground using ramps or a jack.
3. Remove the transmission fluid drain plug and allow the fluid to drain into a pan.
4. Disconnect the shift linkage from the transmission.
5. Remove the starter motor.
6. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the transmission.
7. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the transmission.
8. Remove the driveshaft from the transmission.
9. Unbolt the transmission mount from the frame.
10. Lower the transmission using a floor jack.
11. Remove the old gasket and seal from the transmission case.
12. Install the new gasket and seal.
13. Raise the transmission into position and bolt the transmission mount to the frame.
14. Reinstall the driveshaft, exhaust pipe, speedometer cable, starter motor, and shift linkage.
15. Refill the transmission with fluid.
16. Test drive the vehicle to ensure the transmission is functioning properly.
