1. Raise vehicle and support. Make sure the emergency brake is on.
2. Disconnect the shiftlinkage by placing the selector lever into the first position. With the lever in the first position, pry up the linkage to unhook it from the bellcrank on the transmission. Pry and push to the left to disengage the linkage.
3. Remove engine mount retaining bolt/nut.
4. Remove transmission brace.
5. Lower the front control arm. Lowering the control arm will provide the needed clearance to remove the passenger side engine mount on the 2.O- liter engine. To lower the control arm, remove the two bolts attaching the sway stabilizer to the control arm and the bolt that attaches the front strut to the control arm.
6. Remove the mount (on Neon models equipped with a 2.O liter engine you must first pry the mount bushing away from the sub frame and then push the bushing towards the transmission to get clearance around the axle)
Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedures.
2. Be sure to install the engine mount retaining bolt/nut with the proper torque.
3. Tighten the bolt /nut to 20 ft. lb. for Neon models equipped with the 2.O-liter engine.
4. Tighten the bolt /nut to 25 ft. lb. for Neon models equipped with the 2.4-liter engine.
Note: On Neon models equipped with the 2.O liter engine, be sure to install the mount (with bushing), so the mount bracket aligns with the corresponding opening in the sub frame. To do this, align the opening in the mount bracket with the opening in the sub frame. Then, push the mount towards the transmission and pull it upward until the mount retaining bolt/nut can be installed. Then install the retaining nut/bolt.
