Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical accidents during installation.
1. Remove the distributor cap by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it up.
2. Remove the rotor by pulling it straight up.
3. Remove the distributor hold-down clamp and lift the distributor out of the engine.
4. Disconnect the wiring from the old ignition system.
1. Place the new distributor into the engine and secure it with the hold-down clamp.
2. Install the rotor and distributor cap.
3. Connect the wiring to the Strip Annihilator Ignition System according to the wiring diagram.
4. Tuck the wiring harness neatly out of the way.
1. Start the engine and let it reach normal operating temperature.
2. Connect a timing light to the engine's number one spark plug wire.
3. Point the timing light at the timing marks on the engine's crankshaft pulley.
4. Adjust the distributor until the timing marks are aligned with the pointer.
5. Tighten the distributor hold-down clamp to secure the distributor in place.
Reconnect the negative battery terminal to restore power to the vehicle.
1. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
2. Check for any leaks or loose connections.
3. Test the ignition system by accelerating the engine.
The Holley Strip Annihilator Ignition System should now be installed and functioning properly.
