How do you remove alternator on 89 Honda accord fuel injected?

To remove the alternator on a 1989 Honda Accord fuel-injected:

Locate the Alternator

Open the hood of your Honda Accord.

Look at the engine bay and locate the alternator.

It is usually mounted on the front of the engine, on the driver's side.

It is a cylindrical-shaped component with multiple wires connected to it.

Disconnect the Battery

Locate the negative (-) terminal of the battery.

It is usually marked with a minus sign (-) and is often black.

Loosen the nut or bolt that secures the negative battery cable using a wrench or socket set.

Remove the cable from the terminal and set it aside.

This step is crucial to prevent electrical shock while working on the alternator.

Remove the Serpentine Drive Belt

Locate the serpentine drive belt.

It is a long, thin belt that wraps around several pulleys, including the alternator pulley.

Insert the open-end wrench into the tensioner pulley and turn it clockwise until the tension on the belt loosens.

Remove the belt from the alternator pulley.

Unplug the Electrical Connectors

Disconnect the electrical connectors from the alternator.

There should be two or three connectors, depending on the model.

Press the release tabs on the connectors and gently pull them off the alternator.

Unbolt the Alternator

Locate the bolts or nuts that secure the alternator to the engine block.

There are usually two or three bolts.

Using the appropriate wrench or socket set, loosen and remove the bolts or nuts.

Once all the bolts are removed, you can remove the alternator from its position.

Reinstallation

Once the new alternator is installed, reverse the steps above to reinstall the serpentine drive belt, reconnect the electrical connectors, and reconnect the negative battery terminal. Ensure the belt tension is correct.
