Instructions
1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.
2. Raise the car with the jack and secure it with the jack stands.
3. Locate the starter motor. It is usually located on the driver's side of the engine, near the transmission.
4. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. This will prevent any electrical shocks while you are working.
5. Remove the air filter housing. This will give you more room to work.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the starter motor.
7. Use the ratchet and socket to remove the bolts that hold the starter motor in place. There are usually two or three bolts.
8. Once the bolts are removed, you can remove the starter motor. Be careful not to drop it.
9. Clean the mounting surface of the starter motor and the engine block.
10. Install the new starter motor. Reverse the steps that you used to remove the old starter motor.
11. Reconnect the electrical connector to the starter motor.
12. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
13. Lower the car from the jack stands.
14. Start the engine to test the new starter motor.
Tips
