* Oil Filter (motorcraft: FL-910S)
* Oil Filter Wrench
* Funnel
* New Oil
Instructions
1.) Start by preparing your car. Get your car up on ramps or use a jack to raise the car up. Once lifted let it sit for a bit to allow the oil to drain down into the oil pan.
2.) Next go under the vehicle and locate the oil filter. The Ford puma oil filter is located in the front of the engine, at the bottom where it meets the transmission on the driver's side.
3.) You may want to place an oil drain pan under the filter before you remove it. Some oil may still run out when the filter is removed.
4.) Using the oil filter wrench loosen the oil filter counter-clockwise.
5.) Remove the oil filter.
6.) Take a little bit of the new oil and put it in the threads of the new filter as well as around the gasket of the filter. Putting oil in the threads will help the filter from getting damaged when screwing the filter on as well lubricating the threads.
7.) Screw the oil filter back into the car by hand. Do not use a wrench to tighten it.
8.) Once the oil filter is snugly in place you may lower your car, making sure to remove the jack stands or ramps from under the vehicle.
9.) Go ahead and add the amount of oil that is recommended for your specific car. Start your car up and let it run for a minute. Turn it off and check for any leaks.
