What were tanks named?

The first tanks produced by the British during World War I were named after prominent British generals, such as Sir Henry Rawlinson, Earl Haig and Sir Douglas Haig. The French had named their tanks after rivers, such as the Char 2C and Char B1. The Germans used a variety of names for their tanks, including the Panzerkampfwagen series and the Sturmpanzer series.
