The Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" was a strategic reconnaissance aircraft that was developed and operated by the United States Air Force between 1964 and 1998.
Its maximum speed has been recorded at Mach 3.3 or approximately 2,193 miles per hour at 80,000 feet.
The Blackbird still holds the record for the fastest air-breathing manned aircraft to this day.
