- Type: SAE 10W-40 motorcycle oil, JASO MA-rated
- Capacity: 0.90 quarts (0.85 liters)
- Filter Change: 0.10 quarts (0.094 liters)
- Total oil capacity with oil filter change: 1.00 quarts (0.94 liters)
You should drain the oil when the engine is warm, as this will help the oil flow more easily. Make sure to properly dispose of the old oil, as it can be harmful to the environment.
Changing oil in a Honda XR80:
- Place a drain pan under the bike, directly below the oil drain plug.
- Remove the oil drain bolt with a 17mm wrench. Allow the oil to drain completely.
-Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
-Remove the oil filter with an oil filter wrench.
-Apply a thin coat of clean engine oil to the new oil filter gasket.
-Screw the new oil filter into place by hand until it is snug, then tighten it an additional 1/4 turn with the oil filter wrench.
-Add new engine oil to the bike through the oil filter cover opening.
-Use the dipstick to check the oil level and add more oil as needed.
-Start the bike and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the new oil.
-Check for any leaks and tighten any loose bolts if necessary.
