Yes, you can remove the baffles from your Vance & Hines Big Shots if you wish. Please understand that any modifications to your exhaust system can alter the sound level, which may be a violation of local noise laws or emission standards. Please also note that removing the baffles may affect your motorcycle’s performance. To determine if you wish to modify the exhaust system on your motorcycle, check first with your local authorities and/or emissions inspector to ascertain that modifying the exhaust system will not violate any laws in your area.
You can also reinstall the baffles at any time.
To Remove Big Shots Baffles:
1. Allow your motorcycle to cool down.
2. Place the motorcycle on the centerstand.
3. If your model is equipped with a rear footpeg, remove the exhaust side rear footpeg.
4. Locate the baffle bolt near the opening at the rear of the muffler.
5. Remove the bolt with the proper-size Allen wrench and washer.
6. Pull the baffle out toward the rear of the motorcycle and remove it.
7. Repeat on opposite side.
8. Reinstall rear footpeg if your model is equipped with one.
