2. Open the storage compartment and remove the items inside.
3. Locate the battery cover. It is usually a plastic cover with a knob or latch on it.
4. Remove the battery cover by turning the knob or releasing the latch.
5. The battery is located inside the battery compartment. It is usually a black plastic container with two terminals, a positive terminal (+) and a negative terminal (-).
6. To remove the battery, disconnect the negative terminal first, and then the positive terminal.
7. Lift the battery out of the compartment.
8. To install a new battery, reverse the steps above. Be sure to connect the positive terminal first, and then the negative terminal.
