1. Locate the flywheel cover on the left side of the engine.
2. Remove the flywheel cover bolts and remove the cover.
3. The flywheel will now be visible, the timing marks are located behind the flywheel.
4. There will be two marks, one on the flywheel and one on the stator plate.
5. The mark on the flywheel should align with the mark on the stator plate when the piston is at top dead center (TDC).
6. If the marks do not align, you will need to adjust the timing.
To adjust the timing, follow these steps:
1. Loosen the stator plate bolts.
2. Rotate the stator plate until the marks align.
3. Tighten the stator plate bolts.
4. Reinstall the flywheel cover.
