What kind of oil for a Honda CRF230?

Honda recommends using SAE 10W-30 MA motorcycle engine oil in the CRF230.

- If the outside air temperature is expected to be below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, use SAE 5W-30 MA motorcycle engine oil.

- If the outside air temperature is expected to be above 95 degrees Fahrenheit, use SAE 20W-50 MA motorcycle engine oil.

DO NOT USE AUTOMOTIVE OIL! Automotive oils contain friction modifiers that can damage the wet clutch in the CRF230.
