*Disconnect the battery.
*Remove the following:
*Air cleaner assembly
*Fuel tank
*Alternator
*Coolant draincock
*Spark plugs
*Clutch assembly
*Cylinder head
*Front camshaft sprocket
*Turn the crankshaft so the marks on the camshaft sprockets are aligned horizontally and parallel to the cylinder head surface as shown.
*Apply liquid gasket to the cylinder head mating surfaces of the cam chain tensioner and the cylinder block.
*Install the cam chain tensioner and bolt. Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
*Install the front camshaft sprocket. Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
*Install the cylinder head. Tighten the bolts in three stages to the specified torque.
*Install the spark plugs.
*Install the coolant draincock.
*Fill the cooling system with coolant.
*Install the alternator.
*Install the fuel tank.
*Install the air cleaner assembly.
*Connect the battery.
*Start the engine and check for leaks.
