1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Using the key or a coin turn the battery compartment lock cover counterclockwise to remove it. Then remove the battery compartment bolt in the center of the battery compartment. Open battery box door.
3. Remove the battery compartment by pulling up on it.
4. Remove the retaining rubber from the battery terminals and remove the negative (black) cable first, then the positive (red) cable using the 8 mm wrench.
5. Remove the battery by pulling it up.
