Where is the oil filter on an Audi A4?

Oil Filter Location for an Audi A4

1. Park the car on a flat surface and turn off the engine. Allow a few minutes for the oil to cool down.

2. Open the hood of the car.

3. Locate the oil filter housing. On most Audi A4 models, it is a black cylindrical-shaped housing located on the right front side of the engine compartment, just below the valve cover.

4. Use an oil filter wrench or a 32 mm wrench to loosen the oil filter housing.

5. Pull out the used oil filter and let the oil drain out.

6. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.

7. Screw on the new oil filter by hand until it is snug, and then tighten it an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

8. Replace the oil filter housing.

9. Close the hood of the vehicle.

10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the new oil. Check for leaks.
