Instructions:
1. Park your MINI Cooper on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down for at least 30 minutes.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Open the hood of your MINI Cooper.
4. Locate the oil filter housing. It is a black plastic canister located near the top of the engine.
5. Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug. The oil drain plug is located on the bottom of the oil pan.
6. Use the wrench to loosen the oil drain plug. Be careful not to drop the bolt into the oil pan.
7. Allow the oil to drain completely into the oil drain pan. This may take a few minutes.
8. Once the oil has drained completely, replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely. Be careful not to over-tighten the plug.
9. Remove the old oil filter using the oil filter wrench. Be careful not to spill any oil.
10. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
11. Screw on the new oil filter until it is snug. Do not over-tighten the oil filter.
12. Add 5 quarts of new oil to the engine using the funnel.
13. Check the oil level using the dipstick. The oil level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the dipstick.
14. Close the hood of your MINI Cooper.
15. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
16. Check for any leaks under the car. If you see any leaks, tighten the oil drain plug or oil filter until the leak stops.
That's it! You have now successfully changed the oil in your 2005 MINI Cooper.
