Have a problem with the half shaft on 89 olds cutlass you replaced it but when turn right there is thumping noise im thinking could be motor mounts because looks like drivers side rub?
There are a few potential causes for a thumping noise when turning right after replacing the half shaft on an 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass. One possibility is that the motor mounts are worn or damaged, allowing the engine to move excessively during acceleration and deceleration. This can cause the half shaft to contact the subframe or other components, resulting in a thumping noise. Another possibility is that the half shaft itself is not properly seated or secured, allowing it to move around and contact other components. Finally, there could be a problem with the differential or other drivetrain components that is causing the noise. To diagnose the exact cause of the noise, it is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic who can identify and repair the issue.
