How do you fit a omp steering wheel boss to mk2 Golf?

To fit an OMP steering wheel boss to a Mk2 Golf, you will need the following:

*Removal:*

- Steering Wheel

- Horn Button

- Indicator and Wiper Stalk Trim

- Steering Wheel trim

- Steering Wheel

*To Fit:*

- OMP Steering Wheel Hub

- Allen Key/Hex Socket

- Torque Wrench

- OMP Steering Wheel

- Locking Compound

1. Disconnect the Battery.

2. Straighten the wheels

3. Remove horn button and then the steering wheel. To remove the horn button, push a small screwdriver into the small recess on the underside, and pry it off gently using a twisting motion.

Next, loosen the steering wheel bolt, and remove the steering wheel by first pulling it forward, then up and over the boss.

4. Remove the indicator and wiper stalk trim. These are held in place by two screws on the underside. Push the stalks upwards to release them, then unscrew the two screws and remove the trim.

5. Remove the steering wheel trim. This is held in place by two screws on the underside. Remove the screws and take off the trim.

6. Remove the steering wheel locknut and washer. The locking nut is located on the end of the steering shaft. Loosen the nut and remove it and the washer.

7. Slide the OMP steering wheel boss onto the steering shaft. Make sure that the boss is seated properly on the shaft.

8. Install the steering wheel lock nut and washer. Tighten the locknut until it is snug.

9. Attach the horn button to the boss using the original horn wire clip.

10. Reattach the steering wheel. Make sure that the steering wheel is centered before tightening the bolt until it is snug.

11. Reattach the indicator and wiper stalk trim.

12. Reinstall the steering wheel trim. Don’t forget to connect the battery back up!

13. Test the horn by pressing the horn button.
