Steps:
1. Open the Bonnet Hood:
- Pull the bonnet release lever located inside your vehicle.
- Lift the bonnet hood gently and secure it using the support rod.
2. Remove the Grille Panel:
- Locate the grille panel behind the bonnet hood emblem.
- Use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the tabs that secure the panel to the vehicle.
- Carefully remove the grille panel.
3. Disconnect the Emblem Wiring:
- Behind the grille panel, there may be a wiring connector attached to the old hood emblem.
- Disconnect this wiring connector by pressing the release tab.
4. Remove the Old Emblem:
- Now, you'll need to release the old hood emblem. It's typically secured with a locking mechanism or screws.
- Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove any screws that hold the emblem.
5. Install the New Emblem:
- Hold the new bonnet hood emblem in place from the front side of the vehicle.
- Make sure the mounting posts of the emblem align with the corresponding holes on the vehicle's body.
- Insert the screws (if applicable) and carefully tighten them.
6. Reconnect the Wiring Connector (if applicable):
- If your Mercedes 190E has an illuminated hood emblem, reattach the wiring connector to the new emblem.
7. Reattach the Grille Panel:
- Position the grille panel back in its original place.
- Press the tabs to securely hold the panel in place.
8. Close the Bonnet Hood:
- Gently lower the bonnet hood and release the support rod.
9. Verify the Alignment:
- Finally, check the alignment of the new bonnet hood Star Emblem. It should be centered properly on the bonnet and sit flush against the surface.
10. Test the Illumination (if applicable):
- If your vehicle has an illuminated emblem, turn on the headlights or activate the parking lights to ensure proper illumination.
