1. Park the car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine, on the driver's side.
3. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
4. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission fluid reservoir and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
5. If the fluid level is low, add enough fluid to bring it up to the "FULL" mark.
6. Replace the dipstick and close the hood.
