1. Park the car in a safe and well-ventilated location. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.
2. Open the fuel tank cap to release any pressure in the tank.
3. Locate the drain plug at the bottom of the fuel tank. It is usually a small bolt or screw located near the bottom of the tank.
4. Place a drain pan under the drain plug to catch the fuel.
5. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the drain plug. Be careful not to spill any fuel.
6. Allow the fuel to drain completely from the tank. This may take several minutes.
7. Once the tank is empty, replace the drain plug securely.
8. Dispose of the drained fuel properly. It is recommended to take the fuel to a recycling center.
