When torquing the head bolts, it is important to follow the proper sequence. The sequence is as follows:
1. Bolts 1 and 6
2. Bolts 3 and 8
3. Bolts 2 and 7
4. Bolts 4 and 5
Tighten each bolt to 20 Nm (15 ft-lb) in the specified sequence. Do not over-tighten the bolts, as this can damage the head gasket.
Once all of the bolts have been torqued, re-check the torque setting after the engine has cooled down. This will ensure that the head bolts are still properly torqued.
