Instructions:
1. Park your car on a level surface. Make sure the parking brake is engaged.
2. Locate the oil drain plug. The oil drain plug is located on the bottom of the oil pan.
3. Place the oil drain pan under the drain plug. Make sure the pan is large enough to catch all of the oil that will drain out.
4. Use the wrench to loosen the oil drain plug. Allow all the oil to drain out into the pan.
5. Replace the oil drain plug. Tighten the drain plug until it is snug.
6. Locate the oil filter. The oil filter is located on the top of the engine block, near the back of the engine.
7. Use the oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter. Loosen the oil filter by turning it counterclockwise.
8. Remove the oil filter. Pull the oil filter straight off of the engine. Be careful not to spill any oil.
9. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. This will help to create a seal and prevent leaks.
10. Screw the new oil filter onto the engine. Turn the filter clockwise until it is snug.
11. Add new oil to the engine. Use the funnel to add new oil to the engine. Add the amount of oil specified in your owner's manual.
12. Check the oil level. Use the dipstick to check the oil level. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.
13. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will help to circulate the new oil throughout the engine.
14. Check for leaks. Look under the car for any leaks. If you see any leaks, tighten the oil drain plug or oil filter until the leak stops.
Tips:
- Make sure you have the correct tools and materials before you start the oil change.
- If you are not comfortable changing the oil on your own, you can have it done by a professional mechanic.
- Oil changes are an important part of maintaining your car. By changing the oil regularly, you will help to keep your engine running smoothly and prevent damage.
