1. Park the van on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Crawl underneath the van and locate the oil drain plug. It is usually a 17mm bolt located on the bottom of the oil pan.
3. Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug and carefully loosen the plug with a wrench. Allow all of the oil to drain from the oil pan.
4. Remove the oil filter using an oil filter wrench.
5. Locate the oil pan bolts around the perimeter of the oil pan. There are typically 10-12 bolts.
6. Remove the oil pan bolts and carefully remove the oil pan. Be careful not to spill any oil.
7. Clean the oil pan gasket mating surfaces on the engine block and the oil pan.
8. Apply a thin bead of RTV sealant to the oil pan gasket mating surface on the engine block.
9. Place the new oil pan gasket on the oil pan gasket mating surface on the engine block.
10. Install the oil pan bolts and carefully tighten them to the specified torque.
11. Install the new oil filter.
12. Reinstall the oil drain plug.
13. Add new oil to the engine.
14. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any oil leaks.
