The coil wires on an 8N Ford tractor are located on the side of the distributor. There are two wires, one that connects to the positive terminal of the coil and one that connects to the negative terminal. The positive wire is usually red, and the negative wire is usually black.
To access the coil wires, you will need to remove the distributor cap. The distributor cap is held in place by two screws. Once the screws are removed, you can lift the distributor cap off.
Once the distributor cap is removed, you will see the coil wires. The positive wire is located on the top of the coil, and the negative wire is located on the bottom.
* To remove the coil wires, simply pull them off of the terminals. Be careful not to damage the wires or the terminals.
* To install the coil wires, simply push them onto the terminals. Make sure that the positive wire is connected to the positive terminal and the negative wire is connected to the negative terminal.
Once the coil wires are installed, you can replace the distributor cap. Be sure to tighten the screws that hold the distributor cap in place.
