1. Park the backhoe on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

4. Locate the starter motor, it is typically mounted on the side of the engine near the flywheel housing.
5. Disconnect the battery cables from the starter motor.
6. Remove the mounting bolts that hold the starter motor to the engine.
7. Remove the starter motor from the engine.
8. Inspect the starter motor for damage or wear.
9. Replace the starter motor if necessary.
10. Reinstall the starter motor in the reverse order of removal.
11. Reconnect the battery cables to the starter motor.
12. Start the engine and test the starter motor to ensure that it is working properly.
