Oil leaking around dipstick Chevy 350 what to do fix?

Here are some steps you can take to fix an oil leak around the dipstick on a Chevy 350 engine:

Gather the necessary tools and materials, including a new dipstick O-ring, a dipstick tube O-ring, a dipstick tube seal, a gasket scraper, a degreaser, and a wrench.

Prepare the engine by allowing it to cool down completely. Disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure that the engine is completely de-energized.

Locate the dipstick tube. It is usually located on the driver's side of the engine, near the oil filter.

Clean the area around the dipstick tube thoroughly using the degreaser and a rag. Make sure to remove all dirt, grime, and oil residue.

Use the gasket scraper to carefully remove the old dipstick O-ring and the dipstick tube O-ring. Be careful not to damage the sealing surfaces.

Apply a thin layer of sealant or RTV silicone to the new dipstick O-ring and the dipstick tube O-ring.

Slide the new dipstick O-ring and the dipstick tube O-ring onto the dipstick tube. Make sure that they are properly seated and aligned.

Install the new dipstick tube seal by tapping it into place with a hammer or a suitable tool.

Reinstall the dipstick and reconnect the negative battery cable.

Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the dipstick tube. If there are no leaks, the repair is complete.

Note: If the leak persists, it may be necessary to replace the dipstick tube or the dipstick tube O-ring. It is also important to ensure that the dipstick is properly seated and not damaged. If you are unsure about any of these steps, it is recommended that you consult a professional mechanic or refer to the vehicle's service manual.
