When water gets into engine does it have a sensor to shut off?
In modern vehicles, it is common for engines to have sensors that can detect the presence of water or other fluids in the oil. These sensors are designed to alert the driver or shut off the engine in order to prevent damage. Typically, water in the engine is detected through an oil pressure sensor, which is activated when oil pressure drops due to the presence of water. Some vehicles may also have oil level sensors that detect a sudden drop in oil level, indicating the presence of water or coolant in the oil. When the sensor detects excessive amounts of water in the oil, it usually triggers a warning light on the dashboard and/or shuts off the engine.
