How do you clean an aluminum engine head?

Materials:

- Engine degreaser

- Scrub brush

- Clean towel or old t-shirt

Instructions:

1. Disconnect the battery. This is an important safety precaution to prevent the engine from starting while you're working on it.

2. Remove the spark plugs. This will allow the engine to drain of any remaining fuel or coolant.

3. Apply degreaser to the engine head. Be sure to apply it liberally, covering the entire surface of the engine head.

4. Scrub the engine head with a scrub brush. Be sure to scrub all the nooks and crannies, paying special attention to areas where there is caked-on dirt and grime.

5. Rinse the engine head with clean water. Be sure to rinse it thoroughly, removing all the degreaser.

6. Dry the engine head with a clean towel or old t-shirt. This will help to remove any remaining moisture and prevent the engine head from rusting.

Tips:

- If you're working on a heavily soiled engine head, you may need to use a degreaser that is specifically designed for aluminum.

- Be sure to wear gloves and eye protection while you're cleaning the engine head.

- If you have any questions, be sure to consult with a qualified mechanic.
