How do you know when your engine is blown?

1. Loud, unusual, or persistent knocking or tapping sounds coming from the engine. These sounds can be heard even when the engine is idling and are often caused by damaged or worn-out components.

2. Excessive smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. This can be a sign of a blown head gasket, which allows coolant to enter the combustion chamber and be burned.

3. Engine misfires or feels like it's running rough. This is a sign that some or all of the cylinders are not firing properly, which can be caused by a blown head gasket, damaged piston rings, or other issues.

4. Engine overheating. This can be caused by a blown head gasket, which allows coolant to leak out of the engine, or by a damaged cooling system.

5. Engine seize-up. This occurs when the engine components are damaged to the point where they can no longer move properly. This can be caused by a variety of factors, such as overheating or lack of lubrication.
