- 1/2-inch drive ratchet
- 1/2-inch drive extension
- 15/16-inch socket
- Crankshaft gear puller
- Large hammer
Instructions:
1. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
2. Remove the radiator cap.
3. Loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt with a 1/2-inch drive ratchet and 1/2-inch drive extension.
4. Turn the engine over until the piston in the first cylinder is at top dead center (TDC).
5. Insert the crankshaft gear puller into the holes in the crankshaft gear.
6. Tighten the crankshaft gear puller bolts until the gear starts to come off of the crankshaft.
7. Use a large hammer to tap the crankshaft gear puller if necessary to loosen the gear.
8. Once the gear is loose, remove it from the crankshaft by hand.
