1. Turn off the engine and let it cool down.
2. Locate the diagnostic connector, which is usually under the dashboard on the driver's side. It has a black cover and is labeled "ALDL".
3. Connect a code reader or scanner to the diagnostic connector.
4. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
5. Follow the instructions on the code reader or scanner to reset the check engine light.
6. Once the check engine light is reset, disconnect the code reader or scanner and start the engine.
