Why top radiator hose collapses when you give it gas?

There are a couple reasons why the top radiator hose might collapse when you give it gas.

1. Vacuum leak: If there is a vacuum leak in the engine, it can cause the top radiator hose to collapse because the engine is sucking in air from the outside instead of pulling it through the radiator. This can happen when there is a crack or hole in the intake hose, or when the gasket between the intake manifold and the engine is damaged.

2. Clogged radiator: If the radiator is clogged, it can restrict the flow of coolant to the engine, causing the top radiator hose to collapse. This can happen when dirt, debris, or scale build up in the radiator tubes or fins, or when the water pump is not working properly.

3. Water pump failure: The water pump creates the pressure that circulates coolant through the radiator. If the water pump fails, it can cause the top radiator hose to collapse because there is no longer any pressure to push the coolant through the hose.

4. Thermostat failure: The thermostat regulates the flow of coolant to the engine. If the thermostat is stuck in the closed position, it can cause the top radiator hose to collapse because the coolant cannot circulate properly.

5. Radiator cap failure: The radiator cap creates the vacuum that draws coolant from the radiator back into the engine. If the radiator cap is not working properly, it can cause the top radiator hose to collapse because there is no vacuum to pull the coolant back into the engine.
