Potential Solutions
1. Check the crankshaft position sensor. The crankshaft position sensor is located on the front of the engine, near the oil filter. It is a small, black sensor with a single wire coming out of it. Inspect the sensor for damage, and make sure that the wire is properly connected. If the sensor is damaged, replace it.
2. Check the wiring between the crankshaft position sensor and the PCM. The wiring between the crankshaft position sensor and the PCM is located in the engine harness. Inspect the wiring for damage, and make sure that the connectors are properly connected. If the wiring is damaged, repair it.
3. Check the PCM. If the crankshaft position sensor and the wiring are both in good condition, then the problem may be with the PCM. The PCM is located under the dashboard, on the passenger side of the car. To test the PCM, you will need to use a scan tool. If the PCM is found to be faulty, it will need to be replaced.
