- 10mm socket
- Ratchet
- Flat head screwdriver
- A/C manifold gauge set
- New orifice tube
- O-rings
- Dielectric grease
Instructions:
1. Park your vehicle in a safe location and turn off the engine. Allow the vehicle to cool down completely.
2. Locate the orifice tube. On the 2500 Dodge it is located on the passenger side of the engine bay, near the firewall.
3. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
4. Disconnect the A/C lines from the orifice tube. There will be two lines, one high-pressure and one low-pressure. Use a wrench to loosen the nuts that hold the lines in place.
5. Remove the orifice tube from the housing. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry it out.
6. Inspect the orifice tube for any damage. If it is damaged, replace it with a new one.
7. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the new orifice tube. This will help to create a seal and prevent leaks.
8. Install the new orifice tube into the housing. Press it in until it is seated properly.
9. Reconnect the A/C lines to the orifice tube. Tighten the nuts until they are snug.
10. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will allow the A/C system to circulate the refrigerant.
12. Check the A/C system for leaks. If there are any leaks, tighten the nuts on the A/C lines until the leaks stop.
13. Enjoy your cold air conditioning!
